Description
Since its reissue in 1988, the LIP T18 Churchill watch has retained a timeless vintage charm. This version with a chrome case and two-tone silver dial faithfully respects the Art Deco spirit of the early 1930s, making it a model often imitated but rarely surpassed.
A French story
Production of the Type 18 caliber began in 1935, just before the outbreak of World War II. During the conflict, the company was moved to the center and then to the south of France, to Valence. At the end of the war, LIP returned to Besançon and rebuilt its factory. That's when the "T18" started rolling out of the workshop. With its small seconds counter, this caliber was very modern. An entirely gold copy was given to Sir Winston Churchill in 1948.
